5 1/2 cups flour, divided
5 teaspoons yeast
1 tablespoon sugar
2 teaspoons salt
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
2 cups milk
1 cup water
In large bowl, combine 3 cups flour, yeast, sugar, salt and soda.
Combine milk and water and heat to 120 degrees. Add to dry ingredients and beat well. Stir in remaining 2 1/2 cups flour to make a stiff batter.
Spoon into two bread pans that have been greased and sprinkled with corn meal. Sprinkle tops with corn meal. Let set for ten minutes and then bake in 400 degree oven for 25-30 minutes.
Cool completely before slicing and store in fridge.
